1. Get the official Android package

Because the file is large, use a stable connection and keep substantially more free space than the download size. Android may need room for the ZIP, the extracted APK, and the installed game at the same time.

2. Check whether the file is ZIP or APK

If the downloaded filename already ends in .apk, do not extract it. An APK is the Android installer package. Opening it in an archive app can create the misleading Extract screen even though the correct action is to use Package Installer.

3. Install The False Sun APK
Tap the extracted or directly downloaded APK. When Android blocks the install, open the permission prompt and allow Install unknown apps only for the browser or file manager that is opening this specific file. Return to Downloads and tap the APK again.

4. Fix Extract, Select item, or wrong-app prompts
If the file is a ZIP, Extract is correct. If the file is an APK, Extract is the wrong handler. Back out, open the APK from a normal file manager, and use Open with or Package Installer instead of repeatedly sending it to an archive, cloud, image, or document app.
If Android shows Select item but never starts installation, locate the APK directly in Downloads rather than opening it from the browser’s notification. A renamed, zero-byte, or incomplete file should be deleted and downloaded again from the official listing.

5. Fix App not installed or storage errors
Free several gigabytes of storage, restart the phone, and retry the current official APK. Android can return a generic App not installed message when there is not enough working space, the download is incomplete, or an older build with a conflicting signature is already installed.
Before uninstalling an older version, check whether its saves are stored inside the app and whether you can back them up. Removing an app can erase local data. Do not uninstall blindly just to clear an error message.
