Six chronological checkpoints

The False Sun Walkthrough Route Map

Use this page when you know where you are in the story but not which focused guide solves the problem. It routes each major checkpoint to the correct ending, stat, mini-game, or save page without duplicating every detailed walkthrough.

The False Sun walkthrough quick answer:

Find the earliest checkpoint that may be wrong: tutorial, farm setup, pier and Kyle setup, swimming, puzzle, or late nightmare and knife branches. Reload that save and open the linked focused guide before replaying later scenes.

Chronological walkthrough map

Start at the earliest scene you have not passed correctly. Each stage names the save, the route question, and the focused guide to open next.

1

Create S0 and S1

Before the first tutorial and farm task

Are you testing Cast, or starting a normal route?

Do not miss: Do not overwrite the pre-tutorial or pre-farm save during gallery cleanup.

5

Keep S4 before and S5 after the puzzle

Puzzle checkpoint

Is the puzzle blocked, or are you testing the dialogue and barn branches after it?

Do not miss: The public evidence supports the puzzle as a checkpoint, not a verified answer-to-ending formula.

Use the map as a router, not one universal script

The game's ending requirements conflict with one another. A perfect-farm Eyes run, a low-agility Silas run, a Kyle-focused relationship profile, and the He Let You Go affection chain cannot all be produced from the same later save.

Start at the earliest uncertain checkpoint in the six-stage map, then open the focused page linked from that stage. The walkthrough tells you where to look; the ending page supplies the exact chain.

  • Unknown gallery row: search all endings first.
  • Known route family: open Silas, Kyle, Eyes, or He Let You Go.
  • Unknown early condition: use stats or mini-games.
  • Unknown reload point: use the eight-slot save plan.

First playthrough versus completion run

For a first playthrough, keep S1 before farm work and play naturally. Add S3 before swimming, S5 after the puzzle, and S6 before the barn or knife sequence. That preserves the story while keeping the largest replay points available.

For completion, use all eight named saves and choose one ending before changing the route profile. Completion testing should be controlled; the first playthrough does not need to be.

  • First run: S1, S3, S5, and S6.
  • Completion: S0–S7.
  • Do not overwrite the earliest clean save.
  • Name every completion save by target route.

How to diagnose a failed ending

Compare the target ending from the beginning of its documented chain. Farm failure points belong to stage 2, Kyle or bravery failures to stage 3, water and fire failures to stage 4, post-puzzle dialogue to stage 5, and knife or path failures to stage 6.

Reload the earliest stage that may be wrong and change one condition. Replaying only the final response is useful only when every earlier stage is already verified.

  • Wrong farm profile: reload S1.
  • Wrong Kyle, bravery, or affection profile: reload S2.
  • Wrong water or fire branch: reload S3.
  • Wrong late action: use S5, S6, or S7.

Evidence labels still apply throughout the walkthrough

Most exact routes on this site come from player testing on the official itch.io comment page. The game-level facts, platform list, content warnings, and ending count come from the developer page, while route formulas remain community evidence unless marked otherwise.

Treat Community as a practical route, Unconfirmed as a test lead, and Official as a game-level statement. A clean-looking walkthrough is not permission to remove those distinctions.

  • Official: developer-published game facts.
  • Community: concrete player-tested route.
  • Unconfirmed: conflicting or unreliable reproduction.
  • When evidence changes: update the focused page and the map together.

Use video to identify walkthrough checkpoints

Use video for scene recognition after choosing a stage. The written map and focused guides remain the source for saves, evidence labels, and route conditions.

The False Sun Walkthrough Route Map FAQ

Where should I start the walkthrough?

Start at the earliest checkpoint you are unsure about: tutorial, farm work, pier and Kyle setup, swimming, puzzle, or the late nightmare and knife sequence.

Is this one script for all 20 endings?

No. The walkthrough is a router because high, low, Kyle, Eyes, affection, and Ending 20 profiles can conflict.

Which saves are enough for a first playthrough?

Keep saves before farm work, before swimming, after the puzzle, and before the barn or knife sequence.

Which saves should a completion run keep?

Use the full S0–S7 plan covering tutorial, farm, pier and Kyle, swimming, puzzle, post-puzzle dialogue, knife timing, and path navigation.

What should I do when an ending fails?

Reload the earliest uncertain checkpoint, open the focused route page, and change one condition while keeping later choices identical.

Are the routes official?

Most exact routes are community-tested. Developer-published facts and community route formulas remain labeled separately.
